On Tomb Raider

I'm reading a pretty interesting article on player types and Tomb Raider and any time I look at the screen shots, I think "Damn I should try it again".

But then the reason I don't play them any more slaps me in the face and I wake up.

At its heart, Tomb Raider is a platformer. A platformer is a game that focuses a significant portion of its player experience dealing with jumping from place to place - and in many cases, missing jumps and dying horrible deaths or being reset to ungodly-early sections of the level - losing significant play time.

I always liked doing puzzles and shooting baddies in Tomb Raider.

I hate platformers.

I would have to judge if I could put up with platforming in order to play the game and ultimately, enjoy it.

Ugh. I hate decisions like this.

Chris - Good friend. Sees things much the same way as Keith, minus a few shades of "weird". Also, more fun to listen to.
